I'd like to think of Betty as my alter ego but maybe she is more my hero. Betty is a perfect, pretty, mid century Mom with a good attitude and a hot batch of cookies. She is always wearing a smart dress and heels and her hair is just so.

She hosts fabulous cocktail parties and never buys store bought.


She is more then a Good Housekeeping illustration, she has ambition and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Betty uses her talents to launch a successful bakery business, Sweet Betty.

Betty is awesome. However, I am just a girl--Ha! Well, less of girl now that I am entrenched in my thirties--who likes to cook. And likes to write about it.

I have toyed with the idea of giving it all up and going to culinary school and completing a pastry program but for now I remain an untrained amateur.

An amateur who likes to believe that a hot fresh cookie can make everything better.
